QUICK HITS: Rocco Casullo Ready To Infuse Cypress Bay With Difference Makers

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” heads out to western Broward County to check out Cypress Bay.

Summary: If you know Coach Rocco Casullo, you already understand that this sport of football has been his life since he could walk.

With a father who coached in the NFL, and mentors who have been teaching at every turn, this is a profession that he takes seriously, and anything less than championships will fall short of the lofty goals he sets for his players, coaches and himself.

From winning state and national championships at St. Thomas Aquinas to developing talent at Mater Academy, this is someone who will always provide enough for his players to learn and advance – and give the administration and student body something to be proud about.

Cypress Bay has won in the past – with legendary Mark Guandolo leading the Lightning to the state finals and a force among top programs in Florida. But it’s been a few years since this program has been relevant, and that is what Casullo and his outstanding coaching staff are out to change.

While there are some seniors and veterans on the squad, the 2020 season will see a number of young, but very promising athletes who are here to set the table for a successful future.
