QUICK HITS – New Coaching Staff, But The Same Objective At Coconut Creek

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” move back to Broward and checks in on the Coconut Creek Cougars.

SUMMARY: When Gerald Cox arrived at Coconut Creek High, he brought with him enough experience to help turn the Cougars around.

As he departs for a position as head coach at defending 4A state champions Miami Booker T. Washington, he leaves talent and a solid coaching staff that is ready to continue bringing this team along – and making a huge push for a playoff spot in 2020.

With plenty of talent and a number of coaches that will make sure that this group works hard, there is a great feeling around this program that looks to replace some key athletes from 2019.

No matter what the outcome is this coming season, you can guarantee that this is a team that will put in the work necessary to make the Cougars a very competitive program.

This has long been a program that produces some impressive football players, and first year head coach Johnnie Sloan and Assistant Head Coach Chris Yeargin will make sure that continues.
