QUICK HITS: Miami Springs Looking To Turn The Corner In 2020

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” is back in Miami-Dade County as we check in with Miami Springs

SCHOOL: Miami Springs Golden Hawks

HEAD COACH: Mario Montoya

2019 RECORD: 3-7

2021 – Yahir Arcia, OL

2021 – John Bennette, WR

2021 – Heaven Bradley, DE

2021 – Demetrius Hill, CB

2021 – Xavier Moore, DE/LB

2022 – Thomas Morrison, LB

2021 – Kenneth Norwood, WR

2022 – Cornell Stewart, RB

2023 – Tony Taylor, QB

2023 – Antron Williams, RB

Summary: While this program continues to look for a formula to build back to a playoff team, the bright side of things is there are always athletes – just not enough of them.

For those who remember when the Golden Hawks were always in the playoff talk, the climb back to that level is really not that far away at all.

Just look at the roster and you see high level prospects that we have been fortunate to watch and spotlight.

Players such as cornerback Demetrius Hill, receiver John Bennette and defensive linemen Heaven Bradley are actually very gifted – and while no scouts or recruiting analysts have them on the radar, college coaches who do their homework know exactly who these young men are.

Hill is one of the state’s top players – and the other two have shown that they are versatile athletes who have made major strides.

The coaching staff is hoping that more quality prospects continue to make the Golden Hawks their choice and making this once impressive program competitive again.
