QUICK HITS: It’s Back To Drawing Board For The Always Competitive Doral Academy Firebirds

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” comes back to Miami-Dade County and a trip to Doral Academy.

Summary: A lot has unfolded with this program over the five years – since this team went three rounds deep in the state playoffs.

With a number of quality prospects moving on to other programs, it was a matter of going back to the drawing board – as Jase Stewart departed and longtime Miami Belen Jesuit coach Eddie Delgado was brought in to add his years of experience in coaching and teaching to a school that continues to set standards in all their sports.

While this has been a tough off season for everyone in Florida, for the new coaches at new schools at has been twice as hard. Delgado is still trying to learn his new team, let alone install offensive and defensive schemes.

If history is an indication, this is a program that has built and competed as stellar student/athletes continue to come to this outstanding educational facility.
