QUICK HITS – Emotions Are Running High For The 6A Fort Lauderdale Dillard Panthers

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” moves back to Broward County with a trip to Fort Lauderdale Dillard.

SUMMARY: It was news that hit like a ton of bricks – and two months later – the hurt and sting is still with everyone that knew and respected Eddie Frasier.

At 34, when most of us are still planning our lives out – and thinking about a bright and successful future, this vibrant and energetic head coach was taken from us all – and while his team, assistant coaches, administrators, fellow teachers, friends – and of course – family – is still dealing with this tragic loss of a bright mind that had so much to give.

Instead of building on a 12-1 record, which features so many gifted and talented prospects returning, the Dillard Panther family will move on in this 2020 season with the memory and his teachings that will stick with so many.

With the search going on for Frasier’s replacement, former Dillard standout and current Defensive Coordinator Fred Flowers is truly the likely successor to take over a program that has accomplished so much, losing to only 6A state champion Miami Central this past season.

Flowers and the remaining members of the coaching staff have helped to build this program and will continue to keep the pieces moving while attempting to lift spirits.

This year’s team will have some quality underclassmen, which will keep this program right in the mix once again – keeping the memory of Eddie Frasier alive!
