QUICK HITS: Can The Gulliver Prep Raiders Take Things Further In 2020?

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” stays in Miami with a trip to Gulliver Prep.

Summary: In achieving the No. 1 seed in perhaps the most competitive region in the state of Florida last season, this is a program that certainly turned plenty of heads.

Losing to eventual state champion Booker T. Washington in the second round of the playoffs has stayed with this program throughout the off season.

As a number of key prospects have moved on, there are some impressive athletes waiting for their opportunity – along with a very strong cast of characters.

A few quality transfers will also keep this team right in the mix this coming season – as the region is still loaded with Booker T. Washington, Monsignor Pace, Carol City, University School and Cardinal Gibbons.

For so many programs, this has been a very long off season, and for head coach Earl Sims and his team, it has been twice as long as they are anxious to change the course in 2020.

For the past 50 years, we have spent more time on football fields than anyone in the country. From games to practices, camps, combines and 7-on-7 events, nobody has evaluated more football talent than we have – and as we are in the midst of a pandemic like no other time before – we will remain steadfast to promote all south Florida’s high school football prospects.
