QUICK HITS – Arties Knight Takes Over 6A South Miami With Plenty of Enthusiasm

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” travels back to Miami-Dade County and checks out the South Miami Cobras.

SUMMARY: Make no mistake, through the years, here is a program that has always had its share of talent – and competed with some of the best teams in a talented south Florida region.

Since this school opened in the 1970’s, there have been enough stars and quality football talent that has long fueled the Cobras against some of the elite programs and players Miami-Dade has produced.

When longtime head coach Rick Munne stepped aside, the one person that many felt would be a great hire became the new head coach – and while this Coronavirus has put a wrench into the early plans, Arties Knight is ready with a solid plan.

One of the most respected coaches – youth and high school in south Florida – this is a football mind who will no doubt turn things back around in a competitive 6A.

Take a look at the roster for the 2020 season and you can see some veteran prospects, but also plenty of younger players who will be part of that positive growth.

The mix of talent is something that has Cobra fans everywhere very excited about the future.

For the past 50 years, we have spent more time on football fields than anyone in the country. From games to practices, camps, combines and 7-on-7 events, nobody has evaluated more football talent than we have – and as we are in the midst of a pandemic like no other time before – we will remain steadfast to promote all south Florida’s high school football prospects.
