South Florida Quarterbacks Getting Attention

There was a time when finding a quarterback in south Florida was not an easy thing to do.

While there have been some impressive ones who have come through Miami-Dade and Broward Counties throughout the years, it is certainly nothing like it is today.

With more and more camps and instruction, the position has been elevated in a major way, combining the amazing athletic ability these prospects have with the technique that they are learning.

While there are many others who continue to emerge at the position around this region, we have a few to keep an eye on once again this coming season.

This group begins with rising seniors in the Class of 2022. Prospects who have already had the chance to jump on the radar screen – such as Khalil Anglin (Miami Killian), heavily-recruited Carson Haggard (Miami Gulliver Prep), emerging standout Bryan Lodge (Coconut Creek Monarch), college-ready Fernando Mendoza (Miami Christopher Columbus), under-the-radar standout Brian Nasr (Miami Westminster Christian), three-year starter Deon Parker (Miami Norland), Miami Palmetto’s Kevin Smith, who is looking to rebound from a season-ending injury in 2020 and two-time state champion prospect Zion Turner (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), who just may be as talented as you will find in the state.

While the rising seniors are certainly going to have some impressive football talent, such as impressive and talented Taron Dickens (Miami Northwestern), electric Collin Hurst (Davie Western), extremely gifted state champion Keyone Jenkins (PICTURED, Miami Central), versatile state champion Blake Murphy (Plantation American Heritage) and Delray American Heritage transfer and Dylan Rizk, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons.

Also, keep an eye Class of 2024 difference maker Adrian Posse (Miami Monsignor Pace) and Class of 2025 star of the future Ennio Yapoor (Hialeah Champagnat Catholic).

MORE ON THE WAY

In addition to that very talented group, there are more quarterback prospects who will have the chance to showcase their many skills.

The ever-changing football landscape of south Florida is always filled with changes. Here is a look at some of the emerging passers.
