South Florida Football Hotbed Media Day This Saturday

With football practice under way and the season starting in just two weeks with kickoff classics, you can feel it in the air.

Football is back and every player and coach believe their team is the best in the state.

With months and months of preparation in the rearview mirror, it is time to showcase what athletes each program has, and that will happen this Saturday when the fourth annual Football Hotbed Media Day will be held.

With programs from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties on hand, players and coaches will greet media members as well as recruiting websites and analysts, who want to know what teams will be the best and which players will rise among the rest.

“It’s a great opportunity for these coaches and their players to get some well-deserved recognition for the hard work they have put in,” said CEO & Founder Brandon Odoi. “The great thing about this event is that players and coaches will be interviewed just like they will when they get to college.”

While the media has five players and the coach on stage to answer questions about the upcoming season, many teams bring more prospects who have the chance to interact with media in all forums from all over the three counties.

SEVERAL TEAMS WILL BE ON HAND

Among the Miami-Dade schools scheduled to be on hand include Miami Christopher Columbus, Miami Lakes Barbara Goleman, Miami True North, Miami Southridge, Homestead, Miami Killian, Homestead South Dade, North Miami, Doral Academy, Miami Norland, Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace as well as others.

Broward schools will also be in attendance with Weston Cypress Bay, Coconut Creek Monarch, Plantation, Coconut Creek, Davie Western, Hollywood McArthur, Pembroke Pines West Broward, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons, Sunrise Piper, Pembroke Pines Flanagan, Fort Lauderdale Dillard, Fort Lauderdale University School among others.

Palm Beach will not be left out of the mix as Royal Palm Beach, defending 6A state champion West Boca Raton and Delray Beach Atlantic among others expected to be on hand.

“Having something less is a way to hear some of the top players in south Florida at a time when everyone wants to know what to expect this coming season,” Odoi pointed out. "This is something we look forward to every year."
