It’s another week of football as the popular and nationally-recognized South Florida High School Sports radio show with Larry Blustein on 104.3 FM WQAM was on Monday this week – brought to you courtesy of University of Miami Health Sports Medicine.
Each week, the program attracts the newsmakers in high school sports, recruiting college sports – not only locally, but throughout the country.
The show gives listeners an opportunity to hear about college football programs statewide from the media that cover them. It also focuses on the coaches who use the state of Florida – Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in particular.
The program, which has been run for nearly two decades and has been rated as one of the top programs of its kind has become a popular listen for recruiting fans as well as high school sports purists, focusing on high sports and the newsmakers.
Here is a look at the way Monday night went:
Believe it or not, we are headed to the fifth week of the 2026 high school football season. After nearly nine months of an off season, this year has moved along quickly and there have been some key matchups that have already started to shape the landscape. Brandon Odoi from Football Hotbed stopped by to look back at some of the key games – and looked ahead to the next eight weeks and which teams will be primed for a state title run.

This Friday night, the University of Miami will play its third game of the 2026 college football season – the second Atlantic Coast Conference game on the road when they travel to Winston Salem, North Carolina to play Wake Forest in what appears to be a competitive game. David Lake from Inside The U looked back at the 77-7 win against Florida A&M and ahead to this week.

There has been a lot of talk about the inaugural “Open Division” in high school football in the Sunshine State where the top eight teams according to Max Preps will all play each other in a tournament-style playoff format to determine the No. 1 team in Florida. Andrew Johnson from Prep Redzone Florida stopped by to look at the road to fill out the eight teams.

Over the weekend, FIU beat Buffalo, FAU knocked off Navy and USF edged Army and Brandyn Prokrass had an opportunity to follow all three games and stopped by to break them all down.
