WEST PALM BEACH - As many Miami-Dade and Broward County athletes were spending time at 7-on-7 events and camps across the country last week, there were several players and teams who were taking the football experience one step further.
For three days, full teams were strapping it up and finding out plenty about one another at the Keiser University Team Camp, which gave many football players an opportunity to strap it up and more than assimilate what football will be like this coming fall.
The big winner was Keiser who brought in some programs from outside the area but also saw a tremendous turnout locally - with powers Palm Beach Central and Delray Atlantic battling teams like Lake Worth Dr. Joaquin Garcia, Delray Heritage, Loxahatchee Seminole Ridge and Palm Beach Gardens - in addition to Miami Lakes Barbara Goleman, Doral Academy, Sunrise Piper, Davie Nova and Miami Ferguson.
Here is a look at five Miami-Dade/Broward prospects who turned heads:
2026 – Darreon Green, RB/LB, 6’1, 235, Doral Academy. One of the prospects that the Firebirds and head coach Eddie Delgado will rely on during the upcoming season. Had a very productive camp in West Palm Beach, which should go a long way in setting the tone for this team in 2025.

2026 – Rudy Monzon Jr., DT, Sunrise Piper. Here is a talented football prospect that joins head coach Quinton Short this season after a productive year at 1A state champion Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. May be undersized, but you can guarantee that he will be one of the Bengals top defensive players. Truly made a lasting impression at Keiser.

2026 – Ryan Ramirez, QB/SS, 5’9, 170, Miami Ferguson. Another of leaders that head coach Gene Chew and the Falcons will roll out as they look to reach their third straight GMAC title game. Can run and throw and had the opportunity to showcase his skills and apply what he has worked so hard on in West Palm Beach.

2027 – Timothy Potts, QB, 6’1, 170, Miami Lakes Barbara Goleman. With a need to get a starting quarterback, head coach Ariel Cribeiro and his Gators believe they found someone who checks all the boxes for this team, and against some quality competition at Keiser, he had the chance to prove it.

2027 – Tyler Smith, DB, 5’11, 160, Davie Nova. This is someone we watched last season and followed his progress in the spring – where he stepped it up in games against Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace and Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson. Truly stepped up his game this past weekend for head coach Tyrus McCloud and the Titans in West Palm Beach.
