When it comes to high school football talent in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, almost every year those who follow the sport closely proclaim that the talent never falls off.
Check college and NFL rosters and you will see so many prospects that started their career in the two counties, so you can understand this assembly line of talent.
As we approach the 2025 season, all eyes have been on the rising senior class (2026) and rising juniors (2027), there is also another impressive group that had the chance last year, as freshmen, to showcase their many talents.
With spring right around the corner, the rising sophomore (2028) class has truly stepped up and started to grab some of that attention. Whether it has been at camps, combines or during the competitive 7-on-7 season, these standouts have made an impact.
Today, we look at five Class of 2028 players to continue to keep an eye on:
Justin Antenor, DB, 6-2, 162, Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy. Want to find the ball on any given play, just look for No. 24 and you will see exactly what you are looking for. This is someone who quickly emerged into one of the top cover cornerbacks last season, and as he has grown and matured here in the off-season, this is certainly a prospect that everyone will be watching this off-season. The Mavericks played one of their most competitive schedules in many year which enhanced what he brought to the table.

Kobe Conway, WR, 6-1, 165, Fort Lauderdale NSU University School – 3.88 GPA. Even though many have watched him play the receiver position, this is one of those athletes who could play several positions if called. As a pass-catcher he is tough to cover. Runs very good patterns, but what makes him so valuable is his ability to break off a route to get open. He is most effective as a slot receiver, finding a seam and getting the yards needed to move the chains. He showed in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference state championship game that he can make things happen against elite competition.

2028 FLORIDA FOOTBALL PROSPECT WATCH: Damien Harvey, DL, 6-1, 250, Miami Central – 3.7 GPA. Here’s a surprise for you – the Rockets have another elite defensive lineman, and after his first season, there is no doubting how good this quality talent will be. He is strong, athletic and extremely quick off the ball. You try and block him with one player and you will lose the battle. He simply has everything a potential game-changer needs to be successful. Over the next two years he will be a national recruit and easily one of the top players in the state. Keep your eye on this young man!

2028 FLORIDA FOOTBALL PROSPECT WATCH: Quizon Warner, DL, 6-1, 250, Pembroke Pines West Broward – 3.8 GPA. From the very start of last season, when he played for Hollywood South Broward, there is someone that was simply hard to miss. When you watch him play in person, it is hard to believe that he was only a freshman. He was quick off the ball, strong and very athletic. His coaches talked about him during the summer before his first year and this impressive talent more than lived up to that hype. He is a huge addition for the Bobcats who will be tested this season with a challenging schedule.

2028 FLORIDA FOOTBALL PROSPECT WATCH: Antonio Wilcher, DL/FB, 6-2, 250, Miami Southridge. When all is said and done, the line classes for 2028 could be among the most talented and deepest we have seen in a long time. After playing as an 8th grader at Goulds Palm Glades, he made a major impact on the district championship team for the Spartans this past season. He is one of the most promising defensive line prospects in Florida and joins a solid group that will be sophomores this coming season. College coaches who have watched him play believe he will be an elite player.
