We are just two weeks into the 2026 high school football season and we are already seeing the underclassmen starting to make a lasting impression.
If you’ve followed football in this region for any length of time, you already know that it doesn’t matter what class you represent, there are always going to be prospects that will step forward and jump into the spotlight.
As the senior (2027) class is certainly on the clock, there is plenty of attention being paid to the juniors (2028) who started to turn heads in the long off season and have continued to make an impact for the first few weeks of the season.
Today, we will shine a spotlight on five talented Class of 2028 juniors – some that you’ve already heard about – while others are jumping into the spotlight for the first time.
Kellan Alexander, LB, 6’2, 195, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. Talk about an immediate impact, this is someone who has dominated in his first two games of the season – against Coconut Creek Monarch and against in the Broward National Showcase against California power Sierra Canyon. Watch him play and you will see a quick, athletic and skilled playmaker who is always around the ball – and ready to make an impact on the defensive side of the ball. If he continues to play the way he has all season, college attention will become greater and at a high level.

Tony "Dook" Brown III, WR, 5’10, 175. While elite senior A’mir Sears is getting much of the attention during the first two games of the season, and for good reason, here is someone who definitely benefit from all the attention one of the nation’s top players is receiving. What this quality talent brings to the team is an elusive pass catcher who has speed, athletic ability and a knock of getting open. Coming from Clermont East Ridge High School outside of Orlando, this gifted prospect has already shown that he is ready to compete and also make a difference for an Explorer squad that pulled that ultimate surprise last Saturday against then No. 1 national power Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in the Broward County National Showcase. Keep your eye on this talent all season!

Darrell Godfrey, RB, 6’1, 210, Miami Immaculata LaSalle – 3.0 GPA. Track & Field. It has come to a point that almost every year, this program has some elite underclassmen, and watching this quick and athletic standout, history is repeating itself. Watch him play and you will see a talented football player who doesn’t just run the ball from scrimmages, but get him in space and use his speed and size and this is a versatile talent that is starting to receive the attention that he deserves. Whether it’s as a runner or receiver on passing downs, this is someone who will not go down on the first contact, which is something that college coaches love.

Jeremiah Milcent, QB, 5’11, 160, Coconut Creek Monarch – 3.8 GPA. Before the season began, coaches and players warned that the Knights had something special on the offensive side of the ball that very few people knew about. So far, they were right. What this impressive prospect has done in the first few weeks of the season is direct the attention to Broward County – and while there are plenty of junior quarterbacks in the state – he has already shown, against Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna and Miramar – two solid defensive teams – that he will be a force this season. Throwing for well over 700 yards in the first two regular season games, this accurate talent is someone that will start to attract attention. As he continues to grow and mature, colleges will watch closely and continue to monitor everything he does.

Steven Moore, LB, 6’0, 215, Miami Central – 3.2 GPA. Here is a gifted athlete who has waited his turn over the past two years to get the chance to do what he does best – make plays. This physical standout with tremendous bloodlines has not only established himself as one of the best local prospects but also is considered by many who have watched him perform live as one of the elite players in the state. Was also a state-rated wrestler who has been performing at a high level for several years. Will continue to emerge as one of the rising stars in the region during the 2026 season.
