FORT LAUDERDALE – Junior quarterback Brady Quinn continues to shine as the Chaminade-Madonna signal caller.

Thursday against Cardinal Gibbons he improved his Broward County leading passing touchdowns to 26, while tossing for 238 yards as the Lions defeated Cardinal Gibbons 41-6.

The Chiefs loss was the fourth straight to Chaminade (7-2), all occurring from 2023-26 by a combined score of 151-27. Of the seven Lions victories this season, they have scored at least 41 six times.

“I thought it was a great game on both side of the ball,” said Quinn. “Obviously there’s still things top clean up, but I think every week we are getting better. I feel we have the best offense in the country and the best receivers that make my job a lot easier.”

In Quinn’s two seasons as a varsity quarterback, including last year at Naples Lely, he has thrown 63 touchdown passes.

“Brady always shines when he must, and he’s a gamer,” said Chaminade coach Dameon Jones. “He’s the top quarterback in the state of Florida hands down and shows up every week.”

Quinn threw scoring passes to Armani Strong for eight yards in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead and a second to Strong for three yards for a 27-3 lead with 1:32 left in the opening half.

Senior running back Amos Bradford added a pair of rushing touchdowns of 20 and 9 yards between Brady’s first two touchdown tosses.

With a 34-6 lead following a 23-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Alexander Beltran, Brady completed the Lions scoring with 49 catch and run by junior Peter Pierre.

“I’m proud of our buys getting better week to week,” said Jones. “We still need to clean things up on both sides of the ball though.”

The Lion’s ranked No. 18 in the county by MaxPreps, will complete the regular season next week at Coconut Creek. Cardinal Gibbons (6-3) completes its regular season at home against Piper.

The Chiefs’ scoring came on field goals of 39 and 43 yards by senior Tyler Fuquay.
