When play begins in Week 3 of the Florida high schools football season, there will be three Miami-Dade and Broward Schools who looking to do something they haven’t accomplished in quite some time.
For Hialeah American, Cooper City and Miami Westminster Christian, getting off to a perfect 3-0 starts is something that all three programs need as they all are building something that will last.
Veteran head coach Tim Neal has his alma mater in a position to build the Patriots into a contender – while veteran coach Art Taylor and Cooper City have been developing some prospects that include four-year starting quarterback Nick Dyer.
At Westminster Christian, the Warriors believe that first-year head coach Josh Kirkland’s collegiate experience will translate into something positive at a program that has won in the past.
Several south Florida schools have gone the independent route to bring more interest to their programs and create a winning environment. We have watched it work with other programs who have been able to win and attract more student/athletes.
Hialeah American (2-0) vs. North Miami (0-2), Milander, 7. The Pioneers have gotten off to a slow start – and while they play a challenging schedule – a win this week would be huge for the program.
